Well then, we finished Felluah vol.6.
One volume of Nabi and almost two volumes of Felluah in 3 weeks, no kidding! Now we're almost up-to-date to the release in Korea. It's become possible because the translator has worked so hard to keep it on a crazy speed that I have asked for. And all the explanation and research alongside. I just can't thank you enough Pual.:)
And guess what? Pual finished Nabi v20 already and is working on Felluah vol.7 now, lol. So how do you guys want me to post the 2 series? In turn or simultaneously?

Regarding the postings, while I like both Nabi and Tale and Felluah, i think I may have a personal bias for Felluah haha. Need to reread Nabi to catch up with all the change in dimensions which I cannot afford to do so now However, I do wish you choose a way which is most convenient for you too!=D
In the previous part (vol6 part1), people in Felluah "forced" Orthez to do some things with a lots of documents, I guess it was some kind of the Earl family history or so, Orthez as their Countess now has to know and remember it. Hence perhaps uncle Wion's happy that Orthez's got everything right. Just a guess lol.

ReplyDeleteThis chapter reminds me several things of earlier chapters. The part "turned out to be relatives" was talked between Duke of Fano and Arthur in vol 2. Now I re-read it, the conversation maybe because the marriage was inconsummate, Orthez could easily divorce him using the "relative" thing (the "not consummate" reason was used by Lucrezia Borgia to divorce her first husband in real life)
It's nice to see how back then, Arthur was pretty much indifferent toward it, now he's clinging Orthez like dear life. It shows how much he treasures this marriage and doesn't want it to end :")
Unfortunately, I also read the part that Orthez commented how far she had gone because of a man. Now it is more likely that man is Nox :"(

ReplyDeleteI screamed when Arthur was on top of Orthez. What an intimate moment shared by husband and wife that I could almost forget Orthez's real intentions for coming to Felluah. It is really like for me to think that Orthez really did marry Arthur because Nox was a knight under him. The other probability was that Arthur was a boy she was slightly interested in when she first saw him at a social gathering, and thought him the most suitable man to be husband, to possibly use him as a scape goat from Paris and that Nox was an added bonus to her plan. Though I still believe Arthur to be in love with Igraine, he is very fond of Orthez and enjoys her company, enough to want to make the relationship work. Orthez on the other still confuses me. At first, she seemed to be the one determined to at least form some kind of relationship with her husband, but as the series progressed, we now see Arthur to be the one growing more attached. Also, I wondering whether they just kissed or did they do the hanky panky xD lol I think she cried the day after because of how intimate Arthur was or because they actually went to *heaven*

Thank you for translating and summarizing these chapters! This chapter was really good, but it was sad that the scene was so short. I just love how there's always so much tension between the protagonists in A Tale of Felluah. :D I'm hoping that she cried because she was touched by how Arthur actually seems to love her. (At least I think he definitely has feelings for her. Orthez on the other hand . . .)

After all, she's giving her first time (it is, right?) to a man who might not love her, at least not as much as other guys in her life who practically worshiped her, and has someone else he cherishes/loves more than her. I just don't think it's because of Nox, or at least not entirely about him, since I don't think Orthez is the kind of woman who would let herself cry because of a man. ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't know why people are so keen to believe that Arthur still love Igraine that much? Guy is trying to forget her and so far it works, I guess? At least he didn't reciprocate her advances (that visit in the castle, the handkerchief)..he's kinda pure huh. Well those can be counted as 'he's cold to her because he still love her (he doesn't want to ruin their memories, or if he left his guard down he wouldn't be able to stop himself, lol you know how shoujo cliches work)', but there's also that scene when Orthez was drunk and Arthur bid Igraine goodbye with a smile, not a forced one even though he just gave her one hell of a look moments ago, but a relax and kinda accidental one (because he was amused by Orthez's antic). You know, as if Orthez's (drunk state) manage to make him forget about her for a second there.

About Arthur's feelings towards Igraine, hmm, I agree with you that he's managing himself really well so far, haha. But what's really on his mind? Only the author knows... I like one of Orthez's observation: vol.4, the party at Felluah when uncle Wion publicly shamed Igraine, Orthez looked at Arthur and thought: "To the extent of stubbornness, you're not looking back." Seems to me that he really loved Igraine in the past, to be like that now. Guy is stubborn, not very forgiving, and she's still on his mind - in a good way or bad way? No clue.
But yea, Orthez's presence is helping him a lot. Without him even realizing, I think his mind will be occupied by another girl soon. ^.^

ReplyDeleteI just discovered something. I think it was Orthez said "Ït's too bright", because the window is behind Arthur's back so how did he know it was bright? Too much sunlight can cause watering eyes and so Arthur mistook it she was crying. I really think they "did" it haha Or it's just me hoping it's true XD
